The hottest TCG game, Disney Lorcana, debuted at D23 in 2022. It was just a six pack of limited edition promo cards for sale a year before Disney Lorcana’s The First Chapter set would release, but it was enough to make us obsessed and inspire us to both collect and play the game. We even started our new social media channel LorcanaTalks to cover the game from our unique perspective. When the First Chapter set of Disney Lorcana was released, my initial plan was to collect all of the cards. That all changed when cards were previewed for the third set, Disney Lorcana Into the Inklands. Ravensburger added DuckTales (2017) and TaleSpin characters. I always knew that it was a possibility that characters from the Disney Afternoon would be added to the game, but I wasn’t expecting it to happen by the third set and that it would be the DuckTales (2017) versions of the characters. Subsequent Disney Lorcana card sets would add even more characters from DuckTales (2017) and Chip ‘N Dale Rescue Rangers. I could definitely see Ravensburger adding additional Disney Afternoon cards to the game. We definitely need to get dangerous with Darkwing Duck at some point in the game and story.

Our friends at Ravensburger has pixie dusted us the ultimate honor and pleasure of revealing the next two cards of DuckTales (2017) characters to enter the game.

The Beagle Boys

The Beagle Boys – Small Time Crooks is a Ruby and Sapphire dual ink card. Dual ink cards are new to Disney Lorcana with the Archazia’s Island set. This card can only be used in Ruby and Sapphire decks. The fantastic artwork by Lauren Barger depicts Bouncer Beagle throwing Bigtime Beagle as they take on the obstacles and traps of Archazia’s Island. The card is inkable and only costs four ink from your inkwell to play. Players with this card can choose to challenge another player’s character or location using the Beagle Boys Strength of three and Willpower defense of three. If a player chooses to quest for two lore with this Beagle Boys card, they can use the ability of “Hurry It Up!” to give another one of their characters rush to play a new character card that can challenge an opponent’s card immediately plus resist of one which will add to your Willpower. This Beagle Boys card has an uncommon rarity which means it has a chance to fall into one of the three uncommon card spots in a pack of twelve cards. Now we just need a Ma Beagle to work alongside this Beagle Boys card. MA!

Gizmoduck

Have no fear…Gizmoduck is here! DuckTales fans and Disney Lorcana fans have been hoping Gizmoduck would join the game ever since his Gizmosuit was teased as part of a card in the Disney Lorcana Into the Inklands set. Gizmoduck – Suited Up is an Emerald and Steel dual ink card. This card can only be used in Emerald and Steel decks. Gizmoduck’s amazing Cam Kendell artwork depicts Gizmoduck dodging a rock avalanche which could be a part of the obstacles and traps of Archazia’s Island. The card is inkable and only costs four ink from your inkwell to play. Players with this card can choose to challenge another player’s character or location using Gizmoduck’s Strength of four and Willpower defense of three. Gizmoduck has a Resist+1 which means damage to this character’s willpower is reduced by one. Gizmoduck has the special ability “Blathering Blatherskite” which allows Gizmoduck to challenge ready damaged characters. Disney Lorcana players are going to love that ability. This Gizmoduck card has an uncommon rarity which means it has a chance to fall into one of the three uncommon card spots in a pack of twelve cards. I hope this card gets the enchanted treatment. Gizmoduck was in my top three characters that I wanted added to Disney Lorcana.

You can find all of the latest news on Disney Lorcana’s upcoming set, Archazia’s Island, on the Official Disney Lorcana Website. Archazia’s Island will release on March 7th at Hobby Retailers and Disney Parks. The Archazia’s Island wide release everywhere else will be on March 21st.
