The Walt Disney Company, which was founded on October 16th, 1923, is celebrating 100 Years of Wonder this year. To help commemorate this milestone anniversary, Disney Publishing is joining in on the celebration by releasing a collection of must-have Disney 100 deluxe editions.
Today we will take a look at Art of Coloring: Disney 100 Years of Wonder.
Product Description:
The Walt Disney Company honors its 100th anniversary in 2023. As part of the festivities, this must-have adult coloring book offers a fun and familiar look at everything Disney―past, present, and future.
Part of the Art of Coloring series, which has sold over 2 million copies across the U.S.
On October 16, 1923, Walt Disney and his brother Roy founded what we now know to be The Walt Disney Company. Walt’s passion and vision continues to inspire creative development across the company. As a result, Disney characters―and their stories―have touched the lives of generations of fans. This stunning collection of illustrations features memorable characters, favorite icons, and visual surprises at each page turn. Thoughtfully curated by the staff of Walt Disney Archives, these images are ideal for taking pencil to paper and adding your own brand of color and style. Disney theme park concept art, posters, and maps join with Disney movie art and playful vintage coloring book pieces to draw out the inner artist in every Disney fan, cultivating relaxation and focus.
This is the second Art of Coloring book that we have reviewed. The first was Art of Coloring: Walt Disney World: 100 Images to Inspire Creativity from The Most Magical Place on Earth. That book celebrated the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World with pictures from all over WDW for Disney fans to put their colorful spin on. I have to say that it was my favorite coloring book until this Disney 100 Years of Wonder edition was released. The book impressively includes coloring pages encompassing the complete history of the Walt Disney Company with images from the last century.
“Art of Coloring: Disney 100 Years of Wonder” includes 100 images that are collected into themed chapters: Where It All Began, Where do Stories Come From?, The Illusion of Life, The Spirit of Adventure and Discovery, The Magic of Sound and Music, The World Around Us, Innoventions, Your Disney World-A Day in the Parks, The Wonder of Disney, We Are Just Getting Started. These chapters match the chapter names for the official keepsake book for the Disney 100 celebration, The Story of Disney 100 Years of Wonder. This makes it a great companion book if you already own or plan to own that treasure of a book.
My favorite pages in the book are a two page shout out to the Disney Afternoon with images of Many Adventures of the Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Chip ‘N Dale Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, and TaleSpin. These images are from coloring books in the late 80s and early 90s.
If you are in the market for a coloring book and want a relaxing and creative way to celebrate 100 years of Disney Wonder, this is the book for you.
