What If…? Captain Carter Were the First Avenger

That question was answered in the first episode of the Marvel What If…? animated series. If you have Disney+ and haven’t watched Marvel What If…? you are doing yourself a major disservice and need to rethink about your priorities. The animation is simply stunning. For this review, you just have to know that Agent Carter gets the super soldier serum transformation instead of Steve Rogers after Steve is injured.

Packaging

The themed cosmic What If..? packaging hast a window which is great for in box collectors, but you are definitely going to want to take this one out of the box to appreciate all of the details.

The back of the box shows a picture of the Captain Carter PVC Diorama figure and a description of the character. Unfortunately, the description of the character printed on this packaging is for another character in the Marvel universe. The description is for Marvel character Angelica Jones, “Firestar”, who also has a PVC Diorama figure from DST.

Captain Carter looks fantastic out of the box. The face sculpt portrait looks accurate to the character in the Marvel What If…? animated series and actress Hayley Atwell who portrays Agent Peggy Carter in live action series and movies. Captain Carter’s uniform is based on her appearance in the season one finale episode of Marvel What If…?

Diamond Select Toys PVC Diorama figures are extremely well done from a quality and value standpoint. I have reviewed a few of these dioramas before and the paint jobs are always perfect. The pose is a dynamic action pose that you would definitely try to mimic if this figure was an action figure and not a statue. The shelf presence of DST PVC Diorama figures is that they always look like an expensive resin figure, and the only way that you would know that it was not resin is if you picked it up.

Final Thoughts

Diamond Select Toys PVC Diorama figures have always impressed me from the ones that I have unboxed and seen up close. The simply look like a $150+ high quality statue at a fraction of the cost. It would be great to pair this figure up against a Marvel Villain. So that Captain Carter is pointing at the villain that she is about to pummel with her fist and shield. An Infinity Ultron from Marvel What If…? would be amazing.

Captain Carter most recently appeared in live action for the first time in Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness last year. Hopefully, we will see more of this great character in Marvel What If…? season two and in future live action Marvel projects.
