It’s clobberin’ time! DST Minimates style

A Fantastic Four box set of six new figures recently joined the Marvel Minimates family to help celebrate the 20th anniversary milestone of Diamond Select Toys Minimates. In addition to the four main Fantastic Four members (Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Human Torch, and the Thing), Silver Surfer and Infamous Iron Man are included in this figure set.

Packaging

The front packaging features an original color illustration by Barry Bradfield of the Fantastic Four Minimates.

The front of the box opens as a flap to reveal a black and white version of the illustration from the front of the box as well as a window packaging view of all six of the Minimates figures in this Fantastic Four set.

The back of the box displays illustrated head shots of all of the characters in this Minimates set.

Mr. Fantastic

Mr. Fantastic comes with a few extra accessory parts for you to make him into his stretching forms with elongated arms, hands, and legs. All figures in this set include a clear circular stand that you can connect to the bottom of the figures feet for extra posing assistance.

Sue Storm

Sue Storm comes with circular force field accessories that can attach to her hands.

Human Torch

The Human Torch has orange translucent flame hair and hands as well as an orange flame flight stand so that he cane be posed flaming on.

The Thing

The Thing doesn’t need any accessories as he is equipped with everything that he needs for clobberin’ time.

H.E.R.B.I.E.

We get a bonus Minimates figure in the form of the Fantastic Four’s robot ally, H.E.R.B.I.E. H.E.R.B.I.E. stands for Humanoid Experimental Robot B-Type Integrated Electronics.

Silver Surfer

The Silver Surfer comes with his silver surfboard as an accessory. I couldn’t imagine him being released without his board. He also comes with a stand so that his surfboard in flight.

Infamous Iron Man

We get a Marvel villain Minimates figure with Victor Von Doom as the Infamous Iron Man.

Here is a side by side comparison picture with a LEGO minifigure, As you can see below, the DST Minimates figures are slightly larger. The other major difference between the figures is that the Minimates figures have 14 points of articulation.

Diamond Select Toys Minimates figures continue to get better with each release. I really like the variety of figures in this product line. When shelf space gets to be at a premium, these Minimates are the perfect size and their many articulation points will make them fun to pose and display in your collection. This Fantastic Four set is jam packed with fantastic looking figures from the F4 franchise. The popularity of the Fantastic Four will continue to increase as we approach their 2025 much anticipated debut into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Pick up this set while you can or be DOOMed.
