Super7’s Disney Ultimates Wave 2 has been released right in time for the 2022 holiday season. Wave 2 was originally revealed way back in May of 2021. The four main characters in this wave are Alice (Alice in Wonderland), Mad Hatter (Alice in Wonderland), Robin Hood (Robin Hood), and Hyacinth Hippo (Fantasia).

Our super friends at Super7 sent over their Disney Ultimates Wave 2 for us to showcase on the blog.

For today’s blog, we will take a look at Alice from Alice in Wonderland. The film Alice in Wonderland debuted on July 26th in 1951. Alice in Wonderland celebrated it’s milestone 70th anniversary last year. So this is a great time for new merch from this beloved film.

Packaging

The Super7 Ultimates figures boxes come packaged in a brown box to protect the main box presentation. This is a really great service from Super7, especially for in box collectors. Super7 has a fine attention to detail in their figure’s boxes that it would be a shame for the box to get damaged during shipping.

The main presentation of the Super7 Disney Ultimates Alice box has a iridescent themed embossed foil slipcover with the name of the film, Alice in Wonderland, in the center. The slipcover features bright blue color like Alice’s dress as well as a checkerboard floor that is seen in the movie when Alice falls down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.

When you slide the slipcover off, the figure and a few of the accessories are visible from the window packaging. I am not an in box collector, but I wouldn’t blame anyone for wanting to keep the figure in this detailed box.

The sides of the box features the Tulgey Wood forest that Alice gets lost in Alice in Wonderland. It is in the Tulgey Wood forest that Alice meets the Cheshire Cat.

The back of the box has a description about Alice.

A young daydreamer living a mundane life. her only escape comes via her otherworldly imagination. With it, she finds herself going down a rabbit hole and lost in the strange but whimsical world of Wonderland. With the help – or occasional Al hindrance – of the inhabitants, Alice must find her way back home before she loses here head!

The top window of the box is cut in a Cheshire Cat smile. This was a really fun hidden detail on the packaging.

Alice in Wonderland

Alice is adorable in her blue fabric dress. She has 14 points of articulation: head, shoulders, elbows, hands, upper torso, legs, knees, and ankles.

Alice’s blue soft goods fabric dress is great quality and has many layers. There is a wire in her pantaloons.

Accessories

This is a Super7 Ultimates figure. The expectation is that this is the ultimate figure of this character and that it is loaded with all essential accessories.

There are three different Alice head sculpts. Two of the expressions of the head sculpts are a curious and an even more curious/shocked look. You will most likely have Alice reacting to something in your figure display. She is a very curious character. The head sculpts were easy to swap.

There is a collection of seven different hand options for Alice. Two of the pairs are similar with Alice opening her hands up ever so much more slightly.

Then we get two gripping hands that can allow her to hold items like the drink me bottle accessory that will shrink her. The last hand is holding a sculpted biscuit which if eaten will allow Alice to grow. As said in previous reviews, I like the hand options that are pre-holding the other accessories to reduce struggle time.

I do appreciate the value add of additional characters being in most of the Disney Ultimates figure packs. The Super7 Disney Ultimates Alice figure comes with her adorable cat, Dinah.

We also get one of the glasses birds from the Tugley Wood forest. The glasses bird’s feet can fit securely on Alice’s shoulders.

Finally, we get a small Alice figure from the scene in Alice in Wonderland when she shrinks after eating items.

I would have loved a pink croquet and pink hedgehog to have been included as accessories in this release as the croquet scene with the Queen of Hearts is my favorite scene from Alice in Wonderland. A large teacup or caterpillar ride vehicle from the classic Disneyland attraction would have also put this release over the top for me.

Final Thoughts

The Super7 stock photos of the Alice figure looked more fine detailed for the head sculpts, but I am overall happy with the final product. Her head sculpt facial expressions are very curiouser and even more curiouser. So the figure really needs something else to play off of on your display. Alice definitely works best when displayed and paired up with other characters from her film. My appreciation for the figure increased when displayed along side the Mad Hatter. I will love the Alice figure even more when the Queen of Hearts is released. This figure is a great way to celebrate this classic 1951 Disney animated masterpiece.

There are plenty of characters that Super7 could go with to expand the world of Alice in Wonderland in future waves of their Disney Ultimates product line. Here are just a few: Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum, White Rabbit, the Walrus and the Carpenter, the Catepillar, and the March Hare. The Cheshire Cat and March Hare seem like the most likely release candidates from this list.

The character that I am most interested in from Alice in Wonderland is the Queen of Hearts. We only have to wait until Super7 Disney Ultimates Wave 3 for her majesty.
