A holiday movie has to be pretty solid to be able to be memorable and become a classic. In 1993, The Nightmare Before Christmas successfully nailed two holidays to become one of the most beloved Halloween and Christmas movies of all time. With great movies comes great toys and collectibles.
This week we will be focusing on Nightmare Before Christmas Select action figures from our friends at Diamond Select Toys. They recently released series 7 and 8 of their Nightmare Before Christmas Select action figures. Each pack contains a diorama piece. When you put the diorama pieces together from all six packs in these series, you will have a Halloweentown Guillotine set piece from the movie to display with your figures. Thanks Diamond Select Toys for sending us these fantastic figures to showcase on the blog!
For each blog, we will focus on one of the figure packs in full detail from Diamond Select Toys Nightmare Before Christmas series 7 and 8. Today’s blog will be Burnt Santa Jack from series 8.
Santa Jack Skellington’s sleigh is blasted out of the sky by the army’s tanks which sends The sleigh down in flames into a cemetery. Santa Jack then appears in his new burnt suit look as he sings the song “Poor Jack” and contemplates the bad decisions that he made.
Packaging
Burnt Santa Jack comes in a window package which displays the figure, accessories, and a Halloweentown Guillotine piece. The window packaging leaves the option of displaying this figure in box if you are an in box action figure collector.
The box side view shows a glam shot of the Burnt Santa Jack figure.
The back of the box shows the other figures that are included in Series 8 as well as what the Halloweentown Guillotine will look like when it is assembled.
Burnt Santa Jack
The figure is very accurate from the scene that it is depicted from. This is Jack Skellington’s moment of redemption. His burnt clothing looks spectacular on this figure. The Burnt Santa Jack has thirteen points of articulation: head, shoulders (2), elbows (2), hands (2), legs (2), knees (2), and feet (2). All of these articulation points leads to ultimate pose ability. Jack is a very skinny individual so the stand that he comes with is essential for posing him so that he stands properly. I have him posed in the pics below as if he was singing “Poor Jack” and saying “What have I done?”
Accessories
This figure pack does not come with any extra accessories. The angel graveyard statue would have been a nice touch, but we do get a major piece of the Guillotine that takes a lot of room in this figure’s packaging.
Guillotine
The Guillotine pieces that come with this set is one of the side walls. The Guillotine diorama build is a great bonus for those who purchase all of series 7 and 8. We will take a look at the complete build in our final blog for this series.

Final Thoughts
You can never have enough Jack Skellington figures. This Jack is the 5th one in Diamond Select Toys Action figure series, but each one is from a unique scene with a different outfit that if you are fan of the character or the movie then you kind of have to own them all. There will also be another Jack action figure to own when series 9 is released this summer.
