That’s right DuckFans! DuckTales comics are back after a few months hiatus and it was nice to sit down with a brand new story featuring the characters from the Disney Channel show. DuckTales: Science & Silence is out tomorrow August 28th!
The comic book stories return with a brand new issue #1 of a three-part mini-series. As far as we can tell these mini-series will be the format for the book for the rest of the year. I’m not going to lie, we were a little worried about the future of this comic book, but every time we checked on it we found that it was selling really well. It is great to see it scheduled for a new release.
Science & Silence kicks off with a brand new story crafted by DuckTales Author Steve Behling titled “Silence is Golden!” The story is a fun one where Donald’s desire for peace and quiet leads to universal size problems. Check out IDW’s description;
All Donald Duck wants to do is take a nice, long, uninterrupted nap, but there are too many distractions and just too much noise at McDuck Manor for him to do so. But then Donald remembers a magical artifact that cancels out all noise! Once he uses it, he can finally take a nap. There’s only one problem: it’s not only silent in McDuck Manor—it’s silent all over the world! Will anyone be able to talk ever again? Discover for yourself in “Silence is Golden”!
The artists involved (Luca Usai, Circo Cangialosi, and Gianfranco Florio) continue to bring expressive art that keeps the characters on model. I love thumbing through an issue and noting all of the poses and expressions that I want to save for references when I draw.
