MegaCon Orlando 2019: Day Two Recap

I spent my second day of MegaCon walking the show room floor again. There is so much cool stuff to see, take pictures of, and buy at the many booths. It was great exercise. My calf muscles feel buff.

On to the convention day two recap…

This being Day 2 and a Friday, the crowd has started to pick up a little bit. The celebrity guests start to fill that area of the convention center. David Tennant (Scrooge McDuck) and Jim Cummings (Darkwing Duck) had steady long lines of fans.

My Favorite Cosplay Award goes to:

Darkwing Fett

Convention Floor Treasures

There is a booth that is full of discounted Disney Pins and Disney Vinylmations.

Here is my haul:

For Disney pins, I found a Gadget pin that was recently released at Disney Parks as well as the DuckTales pin that was released last year. Pins were $6 each or 2 for $10.

I was unable to score any of the Disney Afternoon Vinylmations that I was missing. I could not turn down Mickey’s Christmas Carol Scrooge McDuck and Donald Duck at the great price of 2 for $5.

Artist Alley

I visited with James Silvani (@SilvaniArt) again, and he signed the covers of my complete 8 issue series of Darkwing Duck that I brought from home. By the way if you don’t have these issues, get them.

I love the Launchpad sketch that he made on my Darkwing Duck #1.

I then visited David Alvarez (@DAlvarezStudio) at booth PA081.

David’s booth is in the same row as Amy Mebberson, James Silvani, Joe Caramagna….So definitely an all star line up that you don’t want to miss.

David is a comic artist, animator, storyboard, and character designer whose clientele includes Disney, IDW, Warner Bros, and many more.

David’s booth is full of prints which he was selling as well as comics and commissions, and original art. Some of the prints of immediate interest included an image of Darkwing Duck and the Duck Avenger and a print of Gizmoduck, Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey, and Louie fighting the Beagle Boys. My family love the new Mickey Mouse shorts art style. So I purchased a Kingdom Hearts print and an Avengers pint in that art style for my kids.

I will be returning to MegaCon Orlando on Sunday.
