Kingdom Hearts Coverage: Diamond Select Toys Kingdom Hearts Action Figures Series 1

As we continue our coverage on the Kingdom Hearts game and Kingdom Hearts Toys/Collectibles, we want to definitely let you know about Diamond Select Toys.

Diamond Select Toys makes great action figures and statues for all the top franchises including Marvel, DC, Plants vs Zombies, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, The Nightmare Before Christmas, the Muppets, and Kingdom Hearts just to name a few.

Diamond Select Toys sent us some figures from their Kingdom Hearts line so that we can check these figures out first hand.

Series 1 of Diamond Select Toys’ Kingdom Hearts line of action figures was initially released in 2017. Kingdom Hearts also made it into Diamond Select Toys popular Vinimates and Minimates lines.

Packaging

The action figures come in three types of packaging: single packs, double packs, and triple packs. Retail prices range from $9.99 to $24.99. The quality of these figures for the price point is a ridiculously great value.

Figures included in series 1 include: Sora, Axel, Mickey Mouse, Shadow Heartless, and Soldier Heartless.

Exclusives

There were some retail exclusives that included exclusive characters and exclusive variant paint jobs of Sora’s different forms.

Gamestop: Red Valor Form Sora

Target: Blue Wisdom Form Sora

Walgreens: White Final Form Sora

Walgreens: Pluto

Walgreens: Birth By Sleep Mickey

Toys ‘R Us: Yellow Master Form Sora

Series 2 has a Walgreens exclusive Timeless River Sora action figure.

Depending on which packaging you get whether it is a single pack, double pack, or triple pack, you could end up with some exclusive accessories as well.

I was not able to find any of the exclusives when I went on a hunt for them this weekend, but I will share pictures if I am ever able to get my hands on them.

Where to buy them?

Diamond Select Toys Kingdom Hearts action figures can be found on Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walgreens, Walmart, comic book shops, and online toy dealers.

So these figures can be picked up pretty much at all the great places that you spend your time.

Series 2 was released this past summer which we will take a deep dive into in another blog, but series 1 is still available at most places. Some of the figures have been repackaged in a Best of Kingdom Hearts packaging instead of saying series 1.

Series 3 will be released early next year.

The Figures

Sora

Sora comes with his classic Key Blade as an accessory. Sora has 11 different points of articulation: Head, Arms, Elbows, Wrists, Legs, and Feet.

Shadow Heartless

The Shadow Heartless has 1 point of articulation as his head moves. The more Kingdom Hearts action figure packs that you add to your collection means that you will have more Heartless to make scenes for in your collection. A Shadow Heartless also comes in the 2-pack with Axel.

Axel

Axel has nine points of articulation: Head, Arms, Elbows, Wrists, and Feet. Axel’s accessories are his Chakrams weapon.

Mickey Mouse

Mickey’s action figure accessory is his Star Seeker Key Blade. Mickey has 9 different points of articulation: Head, Arms, Wrists, Legs, and Feet. This Mickey Mouse figure is not just a great looking Kingdom Hearts figure, but a fantastic quality Mickey Mouse figure exclamation point.

The Sora action figure can also wield the Star Seeker Key Blade.

Dusk

Dusk has 16 different points of articulation: Head, Shoulders, Arms, Elbows, Waist, Thighs, Knees, Legs, and Feet.

Here is a look at all of the figures from the Series 1 2-packs. The Soldier Heartless can be found in some of the exclusive store 2-packs and regular 3-packs, but he is also included in Series 2. So we will showcase him in the Kingdom Hearts Series 2 Blog.

Overall this is a solid Series 1 for the Diamond Select Toys Kingdom Hearts action figures. I recommend that you pick up this set now as these figures will become even more popular and scarce in stores as we get closer to the release of Kingdom Hearts III. We will take a look at Series 2 in our next blog.
