This week’s episode, “The Beagle Birthday Massacre!” delivered another great episode. It’s clear from the first four episodes (I’m counting the hour long premiere) that we will be treated to new mysteries and surprises with each new episode.

This week we were introduced to many new characters. The DuckTales social media had already introduced us to Lena, but as soon as she showed up in the episode… I was convinced she was more than we had anticipated. If you missed it in the title…. Spoilers ahead!

That amulet… and those eyes…. it all seemed very familiar. And when she began questioning why Webby cared for the triplets… I was certain. With ten minutes left in the episode I posted this one Twitter.

I totally expected this to become a new mystery that would unfold over at least another episode… but DuckTales completely caught me off guard with this reveal at the end of the episode.

If you are not a fan of the original show, you may not recognize the character in my post or who “Aunt Magica” may be. But Magica De Spell was one of Scrooge McDuck’s greatest adversaries. In the cartoon she was always after Scrooge’s Number One Dime, and she often sought out help from other enemies. We knew from interviews that Youngberg and Angones planned on introducing her character into the series, and this week’s episode delivered earlier than I expected.

*** I have since deleted the tweet. It quickly gained attention, and I know not everyone is watching the early airing of this episode. I don’t want to spoil it for everyone. But… for the record… I called it!
