Smoky Mountain Fan Fest 2022

I am excited to report that I am headed to Gatlinburg, TN this coming weekend (July 30th – 31st) to attend the Smoky Mountain Fan Fest 2022. Gatlinburg, TN rests in the Smoky Mountains just outside the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It is one of the most beautiful areas in the USA, and the park is the MOST visited national park.

Smoky Mountain Fan Fest first came on my radar when I saw it advertised on Facebook. When I started scrolling through their guests I spotted not only our friend Jason Marsden, but Bill Farmer! I contacted the show and they provided media passes so we could share the experience with you.

Bill Farmer & Jason Marsden “A Goofy Movie” Reunion July 30th – 31st at Smoky Mountain Fan Fest

On Saturday at 11:30 AM the show will host A Goofy Movie Reunion Panel with Bill Farmer and Jason Marsden. Their site lists this as a Q/A for the voice actors who starred in the feature length film.

“A Goofy Movie” was released in 1995, and is considered a follow up to the Disney Afternoon series “Goof Troop”. Director Kevin Lima has said that he wanted to give the classic Disney character Goofy an emotional side. The film did not do spectacular in its theatrical release, but it’s home video release lead to a fan following that propelled it into a prominent place in Disney’s list of properties.

I am VERY excited to finally meet Bill Farmer. I love “A Goofy Movie” and much of my fondness for the character comes from “Goof Troop” and “A Goofy Movie.” I am also excited to catch up with Jason Marsden. It has been several years since I met him at another show, and it’s been a while since we had him on our podcast.

Aside from Farmer and Marsden, Smoky Mountain Fan Fest has many other great celebrities and artists to meet. There are reunions for the Flash, HalloweenTown, Power Rangers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mighty Ducks (the movie), and Harry Potter. Additionally there are authors, artists, cosplayers, and more.

I’m expecting the show to be a good time. Huge thank you to the show for having me out. I know my daughter can’t wait to meet the voice of Thackery Binx. If you are there and see me be sure to say “Hi.” I will be wearing the DuckTalks shirt, and as always I’ll have some DuckTalks stickers and maybe buttons to give out.
