Another MARVELous set of Minimates has been released by Diamond Select Toys. This time DST delivers a team of figures of Earth’s Youngest Heroes with the Young Avengers. Marvel fans will know these characters from the comics, but a few of them have also shown up in recent Marvel Studios MCU productions. The Young Avengers will definitely appear in the MCU as a team in the future. So this is your chance to pick up some merch before they become even more MCU famous.

Packaging

The front packaging features an original color illustration by Barry Bradfield of the Young Avengers Minimates.

The front of the box opens as a flap to reveal a black and white version of the illustration from the front of the box as well as a window packaging view of all six of the Minimates figures in this the Young Avengers set. This is a really nice window setup. Even though I am an out of box collector I would not blame anyone for wanting to keep them in this box.

The back of the box displays illustrated head shots of all of the characters in this Minimates set.

Let’s take a closer look at each Young Avengers Minimates figure.

Kate Bishop “Hawkeye” and Lucky

Hawkeye comes with some loose arrows that you can put in her quiver. She has two bows. The white and gold bow she can definitely hold like a pro, but you will struggle getting her to hold the black bow.

All figures in this set include a clear circular stand that you can connect to the bottom of the figures feet for extra posing assistance.

Hawkeye comes with an alternate head with painted on purple glasses. Her best accessory by far is her faithful pet dog Lucky which should definitely be considered a bonus character in this set. I wish that a pizza slice would have been included for the Pizza Dog.

America Chavez

America Chavez first appeared in comics in 2011, but MCU fans will remember her from the Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness MCU movie from 2022. America Chavez’s circular base has a star on it that represents her star portal. She also has that same star on her shirt and the back of her jacket.

Kid Loki

Marvel Studios Disney+ fans will remember Kid Loki from the 2021 series Loki. I bet if this Minimates series was from the Loki series, we would probably have gotten an Alligator Loki companion.

Noh-Varr

Noh-Varr, also known as Marvel Boy, is a Kree Warrior that was genetically engineered from Inhuman DNA. He comes with two blaster accessories.

Wiccan

Wiccan is also known as Billy Kaplan who WandaVision fans may know as the son of Wanda Maximoff and Vision.

Hulkling

Hulkling is half Kree and half Skrull powerhouse of a hulk with wings.

Here is a side by side comparison picture with a LEGO minifigure, As you can see below, the DST Minimates figures are slightly larger. The other major difference between the figures is that the Minimates figures have 14 points of articulation.

Final Thoughts

I fully admit that my knowledge bank on the Young Avengers is limited, but I look forward to getting to know them more from the comics as well as any future MCU productions. This looks like a fun super hero team, and Marvel Minimates fans are excited to be able to build their collection with new characters. This set is great fan service for the the dedicated Marvel Minimates collectors. My favorites from this set besides the obvious Lucky dog are Kate Bishop “Hawkeye” and Kid Loki. This is the third Marvel Minimates set that we have showcased on the blog with Marvel Zombies and the Fantastic Four being the other two. I can definitely see why fans love Minimates so much. The small size, articulation, and deep bench of characters makes this a fun product line to display and collect.
