Beast Kingdom revealed last year that some of our favorite characters from the Disney Afternooniverse would be coming to their Dynamic 8ction Heroes figure lineup. Those characters included Darkwing Duck, Negaduck, Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Goliath. A Chip ‘N’ Dale Rescue Rangers figure set which will include Chip and Dale was recently teased.
Beast Kingdom’s Dynamic 8ction Heroes figures are highly articulated 1/9th scale figures. The figures also come loaded with accessories and alternate parts so that you can customize the character for your display.
Our friends at Beast Kingdom sent over the Huey, Dewey, and Louie Dynamic 8ction Heroes figures for us to showcase on the blog. Quackaroonie!
Sometimes life is like a hurricane, and this packaging is no exception as it’s box art unfortunately features artwork from the DuckTales (2017) series instead of the classic DuckTales series from 1987 to match the character designs chosen for these figures. The Duckburg city skyline, Scrooge McDuck Money Bin, and yellow DuckTales logo are all from DuckTales (2017).
My figures are not going to live their life displayed inside the box so the inaccuracy of the series art used is not going to effect me; however, if Beast Kingdom wants to make highly articulated figures based on the DuckTales (2017) series character designs, fans would rejoice. Could you imagine a DuckTales (2017) Della Duck or Flintheart Glomgold Dynamic 8ction Heroes figure?
The box is a rectangular shape as opposed to the square shaped boxes of the majority of Beast Kingdom Dynamic 8ction Heroes figures. This is due to the fact that this release is a three pack of figures. The window display gives you the option to display the figures in the box, but you are definitely going to want to display them out of the box. The inserts neatly organizes all of the accessories that are included.
Huey, Dewey, and Louie (DAH-069)
Huey, Dewey, and Louie have sported a few different shirt and hat color combinations since they made their first appearance in a Donald Duck Sunday newspaper strip in 1937. The Beast Kingdom Dynamic 8ction Heroes figures is the trio’s classic look from the DuckTales 1987 animated series which debuted on the Disney Channel and would later be in the Disney Afternoon’s launch lineup. The bright red, blue, and green definitely pop on a shelf.
Each adventurous nephew stands at 4 inches tall and includes 12 points of articulation. Their hats attach to their heads via a magnet at the bottom of the hat and another magnet in the head sculpt. Their shirts are made of fabric which is great for covering their articulated joints in their waist and arms.
There have been a few figures released recently of our favorites nephews in their classic DuckTales look.
The Herocross version of Huey, Dewey, and Louie figures are definitely the best looking figures of the Duck bros. Maybe it has something to do with the eye brows. These figures are also highly articulated like the Beast Kingdom Dynamic 8ction Heroes line and come overloaded with accessories. The Herocross figures were released a few years back so they are hard to find and are currently out of stock. In comparison to the Beast Kingdom line, I do like the larger size of the BK figures. The longer legs are pre-bent at the knees which helps stabilize them for more dynamic poses.
The Beast Kingdom Huey, Dewey, and Louie (DAH-069) figure set comes with a few accessories and an assortment of alternate parts that will give you plenty of options to customize your Huey, Dewey, and Louie figures in your display. The pegs on their hands are a tight fit for hand swaps. So be patient and careful.
- Two (2) replaceable mouth sculpts (open, closed)
- Three (3) pairs of replaceable hands for each Duck
- One (1) pair of pinching hands
- Three (3) slingshots
- Three (3) fishing rods
- Two (2) blue fish
- One (1) pink fish
- One (1) soccer ball
This figure set does not include a display stand. Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s legs are already bent at the knees which provides a good foundation for balancing the figures weight which allows them to stand on their own and does not require the assistance of a display stand.
I really wish these figures would have come with a Junior Woodchuck Guidebook or Junior Woodchuck alternate hats.
I love figures that I can pose with other pieces in my collection. I hope that you enjoy the toy photography below for display inspirations. The other products in these photos are sold separately.
I like the way these figures look in hand rather than in the original announcement photos. They do have a blank stare like they have probably seen some things in their lifetime which I am sure they have. I think if Beast Kingdom would have included some Junior Woodchuck accessories, that would have made it stand out more from the Herocross Huey, Dewey, and Louie figures.
If you plan on getting either the Donald Duck or Scrooge McDuck Dynamic Beast Kingdom 8ction Heroes figure, these nephews would make a great addition to your display. I really enjoy the 1/9th scale of this figure line, and I think they scale well to their uncle ducks. I love the pic I got of Scrooge with the nephews recreating the classic DuckTales opening.
Beast Kingdom should definitely make some DuckTales (2017) figures since they already have the packaging design figured out : ) There is definitely the market for it.
