“I only hope that we don’t lose sight of one thing — that it was all started by a mouse.” –Walt Disney
We have been really hyped on all of the new Beast Kingdom Disney Dynamic 8ction Heroes figure announcements. The Dynamic 8ction Heroes product line is Beast Kingdom’s highly articulated 1/9 scale figure line. Disney figure collectors finally have highly articulated figures that they can use in their displays to make them more dynamic. There have been a few amazing Disney/Pixar related releases from Toy Story, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Beast Kingdom is dedicated to the figure line’s expansion as the following Disney characters have been announced to be released next year: Darkwing Duck, Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Goliath.
The first classic Disney animated figure, Mickey Mouse, was recently added to Beast Kingdom’s Dynamic 8ction Heroes figure lineup as a Beast Kingdom Summer 2021 Limited Edition exclusive. The figure has an edition size of 1000 pieces and features Mickey in his classic black and white look. There were a total of 78 Mickey Mouse cartoons produced between 1928 and 1935 that were in black and white.
Fun Fact: Mickey’s Kangaroo in 1935 was the last black and white Mickey Mouse cartoon.
Our friends at Beast Kingdom sent over the Classic Mickey Black and White Version (DAH-050SP) figure for us to showcase on the blog.
The packaging features a classy black and white box. The front of the box has the 2021 Beast Kingdom Exclusive logo.
Classic Mickey B&W Version (DAH-050SP)
This Mickey Mouse figure has an amazing 18 points of articulation. The black and white coloring gives Mickey a real retro look.
The 1/9th scale size of Mickey has him standing at close to 8 inches. Here is a size comparison shot with a black and white Mickey Mouse Funko POP! figure.
- Two (2) replaceable faces (Smiling, Wide Laughter)
- Four (4) types of replaceable hands
I had no issues swapping the heads and hands for pictures.
Most Beast Kingdom Dynamic 8ction figures come with a display stand with the character’s name. This figure does not come with a display stand. I also would have loved if this figure came with a Steamboat Willie hat and boat wheel, but maybe Steamboat Willie Mickey is planned for a future Beast Kingdom Dynamic 8ction Heroes release.
Where to Buy?

Oh boy! I would definitely recommend getting the Classic Mickey B&W Version (DAH-050SP) figure soon while he is still in stock and available since it is a limited edition (1000). It is a wonderful to have such a dynamic and articulated Mickey Mouse figure. It would love to see Beast Kingdom release other classic Disney black and white versions of characters like Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy to go along with this Mickey Mouse figure. I could see Beast Kingdom release additional variants of this figure…maybe one with red shorts and yellow shoes. A Mickey through the years series would also make a great collection since there is also a Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Dynamic 8ction Heroes figure.
