Fanboy Expo is coming to Orlando August 20-22! The event will be packed with celebrities and guests from all fandoms. As an Orlando resident, I am excited to be attending my first convention since 2019. This is the perfect convention for convention fans to get back into the fun.
The many celebrity guests that are confirmed for this event are filled with fan favorites. As anyone that follows our blog knows, this is Darkwing Duck’s 30th Anniversary. There are three voice actors attending Fanboy Expo Orlando from the daring duck of mystery’s show.
Jim Cummings (Darkwing Duck/Negaduck)
Jim Cummings is the voice of the terror that flaps in the night, Darkwing Duck, from the classic Disney Afternoon show. He was also the voice of the leader of the Fearsome Five, Negaduck. Other characters that he voiced in that show include Herb Muddlefoot, Professor Moliarty, and Gumbo.
For DuckTales (2017), Jim Cummings voiced Jim Starling/Negaduck in my favorite episode of the series “The Duck Knight Returns!”
Other major Disney Afternoon characters that he voiced include, Zummi Gummi (Adventures of the Gummi Bears), Monterey Jack/Fat Cat/Prof. Nimnul (Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers), Louie/Don Karnage (TaleSpin), Pete (Goof Troop/A Goofy Movie), Bonkers (Bonkers), and Aladdin (Razoul).
If you need even more nostalgia, he also voices Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Ray from Princess and the Frog, Ed the Hyena, the singing voice of Scar, and many more.
Rob Paulsen (Steelbeak)
Rob Paulsen is the voice for one of Darkwing Duck’s greatest nemesis, Steelbeak.
For DuckTales (2017), Rob provided the voice of Gibbous.
Rob provided the voice of Max’s best friend PJ in Goof Troop and A Goofy Movie.
He is definitely one of the major voices of my childhood.
Barry Gordon (Dr. Fossil)
Barry Gordon is best known for providing his voice as Donatello and Bebop in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. He also did battle with Darkwing Duck as Dr. Fossil in the episode “Jurassic Jumble.”
As you can see Fanboy Expo Orlando 2021 is going to be full of Darkwing Duck representation for his 30th anniversary. The Darkwing Duck voice actors are just the tip of the iceberg for the guests that will be in attendance. For Disney fans, there is also a mouse, a deer and his rabbit friend, a flying boy, a pixie, and some pirates. The full celebrity guest list can be found here.
