Donald Duck on Casey Jr. Funko POP! Review

Disneyland’s 65th anniversary (1955-2020) is this year. Funko is celebrating 65 years of Disneyland with a collection of Disneyland. products.

One of the fantastic Disneyland 65th Anniversary Funko POP! sets is a Casey Jr. Train featuring the Fab Five + Dumbo. Each train piece will be sold separately. Some of the different train pieces are store exclusives as you can see from the picture below.

Casey Jr. is from the Disney Animated Film Dumbo which was released in 1941.

Casey Jr. has his own ride, Casey Jr. Circus Train Ride, at Disneyland in Fantasyland. The ride was one of the original attractions that opened up on Disneyland’s opening day, July 17th, 1955.

I am usually a completionist when it comes to Disney Parks Funko POP! figures, but in this case I felt that I only needed to have the Donald Duck as the train conductor which luckily included Casey Jr.

Donald Duck was a train conductor in a similar outfit in the 1951 animated short “Out of Scale.”

Packaging

I am an out of box collector so I usually am not all about the box, but this Funko POP! as well as the rest of the Disneyland 65th Anniversary collection has a really nice vintage weathered color style to it. The back of the box shows a picture of the completed train set.

Final Thoughts

With as much Mickey Mouse Funko products that Funko pumps out into the marketplace, it is great to see Donald Duck get some more Funko love with a great new head sculpt that definitely is a major improvement over Donald’s original figure release. I love that it looks like Donald from the Out of Scale animated short, and it is also a tribute to a classic Disneyland attraction.
