Kingdom Consoles and I Heart Gaming Pins

We have said many times before “That is a nice pin, but we don’t do pins.” We want to say on the record that we do pins now.

A few months back a new series of Disney pins started showing up in Disney Parks. They are called “I Heart Gaming” and “Kingdom Consoles.” The two series celebrate Disney games from the past both console and handheld. Kingdom Consoles has a new release in that series every moth and “I Heart Gaming” is every other month. As soon as we saw these we had no doubt we would eventually see pins for our favorite Disney Afternoon video games.

This morning one of our friends, AwPhoey, shared an Instagram post (we’ve got to get on Instagram) from disneysidekick who attended a pin event. At the event pins for these series were revealed for March, April, May, and June.

On April 11, it appears that we will be getting a Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers pin in the “Kingdom Console” pin series to celebrate the Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers NES game. The “Kingdom Consoles” pin will be available at both WDW and Disneyland Resort as a limited edition of 4000.

Each pin has a cartridge that can be pulled up from the console, and a controller that dangles but can be reattached via a magnet.

It appears that an “I Heart Gaming” series A Goofy Movie pin that will have a limited edition of 1,500 will also be released on April 11th at Walt Disney World Resort. Previous releases in this pin series have represented The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Lion King.

In May, the theme for both the “I Heart Gaming” and “Kingdom Consoles” pin Series will be the terror that flaps in the night, Darkwing Duck. The “Kingdom Consoles” pin will be a limited edition available at both WDW and Disneyland Resort as a limited edition of 4000. The “I Heart Gaming” pin will be a limited edition of 1500.

These pins are based on the Darkwing Duck NES game and LCD handheld game.

Comment below or tweet us @DuckTalks to let us know what you think about these pins. All of these pins are must haves in my book, and I can’t wait for the inevitable DuckTales and TaleSpin releases.
