This Week’s New Media Releases

Three new big releases come out this week in the world of books and blu-rays:

Our friends at Fantagraphics will be releasing the 9th volume of the Don Rosa Library on July 24th, “The Three Caballeros Rides Again!”

With all of the recent and deserved Three Caballeros hype, this one should be a great and popular read. This collection of some of Don Rosa’s work has 8 different stories including the Three Caballeros story.

We will have a review on this one by the end of the week.

The next two big releases this week are not necessarily Duck related. They are from Gravity Falls. There are people that work on DuckTales including Dana Terrace who worked on the Gravity Falls show and this week’s book release.

Gravity Falls: Lost Legends is four new stories collected in this new hardback book. I can’t wait to revisit the town of Gravity Falls again in this book. I hope that this book is popular enough that more book releases come in the future.

We will have a review on this one by the end of the week.

Shout Factory’s release of the complete Gravity Falls series on Blu-Ray and DVD could be great news for other Disney Afternoon shows that we hope will receive this same treatment one day. It may depend on how well this set sells. Gravity Falls is up at the top with DuckTales (2017) as my favorite animated shows of all time…and Darkwing Duck is at the top of the list as well. This Gravity Falls set is definitely worth a blind buy if you have not seen the show before.
