There have been a few DuckTales promo videos on the Disney Channels’ YouTube channel over the past few days. We’ve been wanting to do some breakdowns of these videos, but life has been crazy. I had some time this morning so I thought we could at least take a look at the new animation found in the trailer from April 10th.
You can find the video below, followed by the description from the Disney Channel’s YouTube channel. After that I’ll have screen scrapes from the video so we can look at the scene more in-depth.
The next image includes Huey and Dewey fighting while Webby looks on surprised. It also appears that Louie may be pleading with them to stop. Based on the walls, floor, desk with books, and banners we are going to guess this is the boys room in Uncle Scrooge’s mansion. We know that Frank Angones, Co-Producer of the show, has said we would see the boys room in the future, and he confirmed the room is the “marble room” from the premier episodes.
If we had to pick one image that hyped us the most from this video it would be Dewey in an Australian bush hat, facing down air pirates! We’ve been looking for air pirates ever since the premiere episode included a mention of them on Webby’s board. We aren’t sure what episode will have these pirates, but we can’t wait to see them not he show! This animation is even more exciting because we know that the newest video includes non other than Don Karnage!
One of the strangest animations from the show includes Webby swinging across a body of water in a cavern with Scrooge McDuck and dead fish… We can see outside the cavern and there appear to be palm trees. Maybe this is from the “Spear of Selene!” or maybe the unnamed air pirate episode. It does look like Webby is having fun despite the dead fish! Ew.
The next new animation is clearly from the McDuck mansion. We see Webby and Dewey taking on an unknown flying robot with a laser! This episode is believed to be from “Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System!” We know the episode will include the introduction of Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera when Launchpad is having trouble with some creations of Mark Beaks. A fun easter egg can be spotted on the flying robot. If you look at the robots chest-plate you may notice the designation “DT-87.” This is most likely a reference to DuckTales 1987. The original DuckTales show premiered in 1987.
Who wouldn’t watch a talk show hosted by Dewey!? We aren’t sure what episode this may be from, but we can’t wait to find out.
The last new animation came from the episode we believe to be “The Spear of Selene!” This image of Donald and Scrooge with the same look on their face is priceless.
