Diamond Select Toys Kingdom Hearts Tron Lightcycle With Sora Minimates Review

When it comes to awesome Kingdom Hearts toys and collectibles, Diamond Select Toys has the keyblade to our hearts. Seriously though…Diamond Select Toys’ Kingdom Hearts product line includes amazing Select Action Figures, Gallery Dioramas, Bust Statues, Vinimates, and Minimates.

Today we will take a look at a item from the Kingdom Hearts Minimates line courtesy of Diamond Select Toys, Kingdom Hearts Lightcycle with Sora figure pack. For those who are not familiar with the Kingdom Hearts video game series, who are you people? Go play the game. Sora, Donald, and Goofy get transported into the world of the cult classic Disney movie Tron in the world titled Space Paranoids.

Packaging

The Kingdom Hearts Lightcycle with Sora figure pack comes in blister card packaging displaying both the vehicle and the Minimates figure. This is considered a deluxe pack as most Minimates figures come in a pack with two Minimates figures. So this pack is extra special for including such an important part of the Space Paranoids level with a vehicle accessory of the Lightcycle.

The back of the box shows a picture of Sora riding on the Lightcycle. I had my reservations on wether or not I was going to be able to recreate this pose. We will see later in the review if I was successful. The back of the box also lets us know that the Lightcycle has rolling wheels.

Sora

This was my first encounter with the Minimates line, and I was really impressed with the articulation and that the figure stood so well on its own. Sora has 14 points of articulation, and the figure’s parts can be swapped around with other Minimates characters in the Kingdom Hearts line and beyond.

This figure is a great depiction of Sora from the Space Paranoids world. Diamond Select Toys has also made a Sora from Space Paranoids figure in their Action Figure and Vinimates product lines.

Here is a size comparison shot with the Minimates figure and a Donald Duck LEGO minifigure.

There are other Diamond Select Toys Minimates figure packs sold separately that include Tron, Sark, Space Paranoids Donald Duck, and Space Paranoids Goofy.

Lightcycle

The Lightcycle vehicle measures at 6 inches long.

If you wish to have a Lightcycle race with your Minimates, there are wheels on the bottom of the Lightcycle as advertised on the box.

Now the big moment that we have been waiting for…will the Minimates figure be able to ride on the Lightcycle like the picture depicted on the back of the box? Success! This makes for a great way to play with or display your figure.

Final Thoughts

I love minifigures, and I was impressed by this Minimates deluxe figure pack. I can now see why the Minimates product line is so popular with Diamond Select Toys’ fans. There is so much articulation with this mini Sora. I am glad that they decided to make the Lightcycle as vehicle accessories do not get much cooler than that.

The Minimates product line would be a great choice for anyone that experiences space issues. I thought it would also be fun to pair up the Minimates figure with the Diamond Select Toys Space Paranoids Sora action figure as the sizing difference makes it look like the Minimates figure is a toy for the action figure to play with.

I could see the popularity of this figure pack rise, and it could possibly be harder to find next year when the Tron Lightcycle Power Run ride opens up at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Thanks Diamond Select Toys for sending this Minimates product to us to review.
