The past couple of weeks have been full of DuckTales news. This past week we had no less than two new promos full of new clips for the show. We plan on discussing these in detail on the next episode of the podcast, but we know how much you DuckNuts like discussing new DuckTales news.
The Disney Channel Twitter account posted several tweets that included promos of upcoming episodes of DuckTales. The last one was on April 21st, but they have since taken it down. This blog was supposed to link to those tweets so you could watch the promo, but now it’s gone. So the next best thing are these images.
The adventure continues for #DuckTales on @DisneyChannel on May 1st! Are you ready? pic.twitter.com/udgnd1YPMe

To begin with we get a pan on an ominous mountain that appears to have seen better days. It’s hard to guess what episode this may be from. My first thoughts are that it could be from “The Spear of Selene!” but I guess it could also be from the air pirates episode. It does appear that the statues are armored cats holding shields. What are your thoughts?
The next clip includes Webby standing on what looks to be a model of a hill top town… That or Webby has been enlarged to giant proportions, but that seems unlikely based on the floor tiles. What do you think? Could this clip be from “The Spear of Selene!” or the air pirates episode?
We’ve seen quick clips of this character a few times, but this time we get an introduction from Huey, “The king of the gods!?” There has been a ton of speculation as to Zeus’s role in the “Spear of Selene!” and Della’s story. How do you think he will fit into the story?
The next image has classic comic Scrooge fans excited. If you’ve read those comics (or if you are overly fond of the Klondike episodes from the original cartoon) you may recognize the character to the left of the bear. We’ve seen production images of Goldie, and now we’ve seen a little animation too.
The last promo included animation from this episode, but now we see that the flying bot carries Dewey outside of the mansion. Also take note that he is holding a toy figure… does the figure look familiar to you?
Webby! Yeah, our adventurous lassie appears to be in some trouble here. This red-lit cave appears to be full of coins. Later in this promo we will see a shark made of money… So I am assuming Webby is being eaten by that money-shark.
Speaking of which. Looks like Webby and Lena will be facing off against the money-shark.
I am not sure what episode this may be from, but the family looks ready to take on a foe using a shovel and mop! What episode do you think we are looking at?
Unannounced Junior Woodchuck episode! Fans of the comics and the original show are ready to see the boys on an adventure with the WJW, and toss in some Beagle Boys!? Oh my!
It is becoming clear that Dewey enjoys breaking out into song and dance. Here he is leading what appear to be air pirates in a number. The surroundings remind me of the interiors of Don Karnage’s giant flying carrier.
This clip with the light shining out of what looks like an abandoned, damaged town makes me think of the ominous mountain from the beginning of the promo. Any thoughts?
More Webby versus the money-shark.
Launchpad! You have to love everyone’s friend, Launchpad. This image looks like it is most likely from the Money Bin. LP is wearing his chauffeurs’ hat, and Dewey is with him. It looks like Dewey isn’t pleased with something. My guess is this is from “Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System!”
Whoa, I wasn’t expecting this in the promo… so there is a sea monster in what appears to be a pool with a boat dock… I’m guessing “The Spear of Selene!” based on Dewey and Webby being together, but if the model town episode isn’t Selene I wouldn’t be surprised if these are the same episodes.
Donald is not a fan of Launchpad’s flying! This was one of the best moments in this promo. We can see that it is raining outside and the Sun Chaser must be doing some evasive maneuvering for Donald to be thrown about like this. It makes sense this could be from the air pirates episode.
And now for the absolutely coolest moment of any DuckTales promo so far! We see this Darkwing Duck bobble head on the dash of a car that Launchpad is about to drive, and LP says the iconic words “Let’s get dangerous.” It’s clear that LP is a fan of Darkwing… and that the masked mallard is popular enough in this universe to have his own merchandise (merchandise that I need, right now!). It also looks like Launchpad is on some kind of movie or television set. You can see the buildings are cutouts. Between some images with posters, bobble heads, and the catch phrase do you think DW will just be an Easter egg or have an actual appearance in this episode?
Dewey versus air pirates! What a fun clip. The animation of this clip is exactly what I’m looking for in the the adventures to come. This reminds me of the fast paced excitement found in an episode of TaleSpin! I can’t help but wonder if we will get more than just the air pirates?
It has always been a joke with DuckTales that there was no way Scrooge could swim in money… Anyway, it’s a subject the new show has embraced whole-heartedly. In “The Great Dime Chase!” Scrooge stops Louie from plunging to his death and tells him that it took years to perfect the muscles needed to dive into money. Well, it looks like the boys feel they are ready… The cut of the clips might suggest Dewey makes it, but the webbed feet diving into the money was wearing spats!
New character alert! Looks like a black Heron with at least one bionic arm. The name of this character was spoiled by an ABC Nightline segment many months ago. She goes by, Black Heron… no, I’m not kidding. Who knows what story this is from, what do you think?
The next clip includes familiar animation from “The Missing Links of Mooreshire!” We’ve seen some of the animation in other promos, and there was that whole incident where the episode aired in Sweden and was “leaked” to the internet by the Russians!
Not sure what we are seeing here. LP is flying a helicopter in what may be a storm.
Return of the “House or Lucky Gander!” suit! What are your predictions on this episode?
A scene with LP driving with a determined look on his face. I’m still leaning toward “Beware of the B.U.D.D.Y. System!” Looks like LP may be racing or chasing someone or something.
Oh! Looks like he is chasing something! It appears Lil’ Bulb has merged with something Beaks has created at Waddle, and is angrily driving away with Beaks, Gyro, Dewey, and Scrooge.
A few more clips from “The Missing Links of Moorshire!” I am not going to give anything away from this episode, but these two ponies are hilarious and they are voiced by MLP voice actresses Tara Strong and Andrea Libman!
This promo is amazing. And don’t forget it is the second iteration of this promo we’ve seen. Just a few days earlier The Disney Channel Twitter released it without the Darkwing references and we were all excited over this scene. It’s great seeing Don Karnage again, and we hope he will be voiced by a Jim Cummings.
The internet is convinced this robot looks like the ones Gyro created in the original show. The giant chin makes them look close, but they are missing a few features. The robot head seen in the premier looked more like those robots. So who could this guy be? And why is his “shirt” numbered? Do you think they are part of the BUDDY System episode? Some have pointed out the binary code on the wall to Scrooge’s left.
Well, that’s it for this promo. We hope you are as excited about DuckTales returning next week as we are! What episodes are you most looking forward to? What cameo can you not wait for? Join the conversation below in the comments or on Twitter @DuckTalks
