Marvel Uncle Scrooge: Earth’s Mightiest Duck #4 Review

Marvel has been crushing it lately with the addition of some of our favorite Disney characters to their lineup of comics. Uncle Scrooge and the Infinity Dime was followed up with seven Marvel & Disney: What If…? issues where Mickey and Friends got to live their epic Marvel super hero dreams. Now we get a new Uncle Scrooge tale, Uncle Scrooge: Earth’s Mightiest Duck, which links up with the events that took place in Uncle Scrooge and the Infinity Dime. Unlike the other recent Marvel & Disney collaborations which were all one shots, Uncle Scrooge: Earth’s Mightiest Duck is a four issue mini series. The series will be written by Uncle Scrooge and the Infinity Dime writer, Jason Aaron, and illustrated by a team of talented artists.

My Recap and Review

The story within Uncle Scrooge: Earth’s Mightiest Duck #4 is titled “The Treasure of a Lifetime”. When we last saw the Duck family, Scrooge had just escaped his mind prison, and Donald and the Woodchuck resistance were about to face off with the Connoisseurs’ coin operated robot army. They are able to defeat the first wave of robots, but soon discover that the task might be impossible as the robots will just keep coming. Scrooge decides to give the robots exactly what they are after. Using a power in his number one dime, his fortune of coins starts to fall from the sky. The ducks collect the coins and deposit them in to the robot army. Once the robots mission has been completed, the robots automatically power down. Scrooge’s dime controls a giant magnet that Gyro constructed on the moon. The magnet sucked up all of Scrooge’s coins in to the sky making them orbit the Earth. Scrooge adjusts the magnet to suck up all of the Earth’s coins including the coins inside the robots making a moon-sized meteor of money. The polarity of the magnet is reversed sending the comet of money away from the Earth and saving the planet. The Connoisseurs flee with the coin starving robots giving chase.

Scrooge’s memories existed within those precious coins and connection to the past. All he had last was the last coin on the planet, his number one dime. A lone robot emerges and tries to hurt Scrooge’s family. Scrooge gives up his number one dime to save them along with his last memories.

Scrooge is lost with his memories and loses himself. Weeks later, he is found shining shoes in the streets of Duckburg. Donald and the boys try to get Scrooge to remember who he was. Donald has Scrooge shine his foot and throws him a newly minted coin. Since all of the coins were removed from the Earth, new coins had to be manufactured. They decided to use the profile of Earth’s Mightiest Hero, Scrooge McDuck, on the coin. This is Scrooge’s new number one coin, and it is Scrooge’s new inspiration to go on adventures with his family to recover his coins in space and make new memories. He starts to feel like his old self and gains memories back as lost old coins are found.

There are some sketches and designs of the Connoisseurs and the coin operator robot army at the end of the book for some nice bonus content.

Uncle Scrooge: Earth’s Mightiest Duck #4 (Russell Dauterman)

This concludes Marvel’s duck tale of Uncle Scrooge: Earth’s Mightiest Duck. A trade paperback collecting all four issues will be tentatively released in April 2026. This year we have seen Marvel release Disney collabs with Marvel & Disney: What If…?, Uncle Scrooge: Earth’s Mightiest Duck, and Fantastic Four x Gargoyles. I love that Marvel is taking the Disney characters that we love and are updating them with some modern day action and gritty adventures. I can’t wait to see what Marvel announces for next year.
