Negaduck #7 (Jae Lee)

Official Synopsis: To prove he’s the rightful leader of all villains, Negaduck leads a parade of pillaging across the planet! Under his direction, ND’s fellow menaces live up to their rotten potential and start a global crime wave! But just as our foul fowl settles into his top-duck position, he finds out the society’s true plan – and it does not involve Negaduck! (Not in a way he’d like, anyway…)

This issue’s action figure variant cover features three of the new villain characters introduced in this series, Dr. Dooz, Wicked Wendy, and Terrence.

My Review

*STOP READING HERE IF YOU WANT TO AVOID ALL SPOILERS*

This issue is titled “World Wide Mayhem”. The Negaduck led club of villains are ready for their world takeover. The first stop on their world domination tour is an art gallery. Negaduck, Harold, Terrance, The Cloud, and Van Dough epically skydive from their sky machine blimp in style to the roof of the gallery. Van Dough recreates the famous paintings while The Cloud replaces the paintings with Van Dough’s works of art. Terrance distracts the guards for an easy escape with the art loot.

The next stop in mayhem is a championship football game. Negaduck has plans to drop the mother of all stink bombs into the stadium to ruin the ending of the game. But wait…the most hilarious thing happened when the panel shot pans to the football audience. I was delighted to see a cameo of my Pirate Steven Duck had made it into the Negaduck comic. Thanks Ciro! My cameo made it from Darkwing Duck to Justice Ducks and now to Negaduck. I am still extremely cooled out to be a small part of this universe among my favorite characters. I am forever humbly grateful.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program of Negaduck’s world domination tour. Negaduck attaches his blimp to a rocket that launched to travel to another continent to interrupt another championship. What kind of championship? Negaduck and his team of villains terrorize a baking competition where Wicked Wendy’s illusions make the judges see and taste a different dessert than the one that is front of them. The judges eat a plate of trash. I do have to say that I really love that each of new villain characters introduced by Jeff Parker and Ciro Cangialosi in this story arc of Negaduck have names and unique looks and powers.

The next stop is Europe in a submarine to Venice and London to interrupt wedding proposals, cause mischief, and vandalize landmarks. In Egypt, they transform the face of the historic Sphinx landmark into Negaduck’s face. After all this world domination, Negaduck gives his villain crew a well earned beach break. The villain crew thanks their leader by performing a mutiny led by Harold over Negaduck by trapping him in a cage. The villains replace Negaduck by a Mega-Negaduck robot built by Dr. Dooz. The Mega-Negaduck robot design is pretty excellent, and I can’t wait for the finale issue next week where Negaduck has to defeat all of the villains including this new doppleganger robot. Issue #6 and #7 of this Negaduck series have been the best in the series so far. I can’t wait to see how this Negaduck comic series ends next month.
