Official Synopsis:

OLYMPUS IS FALLING!

After the unexplained disappearance of both Aphrodite and Hephaestus, the remaining gods of Olympus convene an emergency council to tackle the problem. Rejecting Hercules’s outlandish idea that Hades might have returned, they dismis- sively send the demigod on another divine errand this time to the city of Thessaly, which is under attack from an army of centaurs.

As Hercules and Galatea take on the hooved besiegers, Meg and Phil search for the source of their hostility- only to find that their main suspect has become the latest victim of the ongoing rash of supernatural vanishings!

My Review

*STOP READING HERE IF YOU WANT TO AVOID ALL SPOILERS*

Hercules goes to his sister Athena for help on solving the case of the mystery pair of gods, and she immediately let him know that she is not the goddess of accommodating his feelings. Megara’s leg is all healed from the battle in the first issue, and she is ready to join Hercules on his next job from Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Someone has been killing her sacred deer.

Artemis and her pack of dogs are attacked by a flock of giant Harpies. Meg gets flown away in the claw clutches of a Harpie, but she proves that she is not a damsel in distress just like in the movie Hercules. Meg is written very well in character. All of George Kambadais’ Hercules character illustrations are very faithful to the movie with the addition of them being in his epic style. I have to say that his Meg illustrations are extra dreamy and full of character and emotion that enhances what we saw from Meg in the movie. Meg proves again that she can take care of herself as she escapes from the Harpie that held her captive. Artemis is not as lucky as she is captured by the person/god who is behind now three gods that have gone missing. Hades is the main suspect as a giant dog print is left at the scene of the crime that could belong to Hades’ three headed pet dog Cerberus. All clues lead to Hades which makes me think it is not him if it is too obvious. Although, I really hope it is Hades so that we can see a Kambadais Hades. We will find out more of the mystery in the next issue.
