Dynamite Comics Lilo and Stitch #2 Review

There’s no place I’d rather be
Than on my surfboard out at sea
Lingering in the ocean blue
And If I had one wish come true
I’d surf ’til the sun sets beyond the horizon
‘Āwikiwiki, mai lohilohi
Lawe mai i ko papa he’e nalu
Flying by on the Hawaiian roller coaster ride

*STOP READING HERE IF YOU WANT TO AVOID ALL SPOILERS*

When we lost saw Stitch, he was making his way into a convention that had major New York Comic Con vibes to escape the two shark cluster drones that we working for the Cluster Sovereign. Their goal is to obtain some Stitch DNA samples that can be used to make the drone army more agressive and dangerous. Meanwhile, Lilo is searching all over New York for Stitch. Jumba and Pleakley have to go back to Hawaii and pick up Nani once she finds out her little sister is in New York.

Lilo and Stitch #2 (Edwin Galmon)

The issue is full of many cosplayers in the background as well as plenty of convention references that readers will definitely get and appreciate. Stitch makes a new friend named Mike at the convention that is selling blue kawaii koalas that look like Stitch. Mike helps Stitch fight and escape the shark cluster drones. Stitch feels a need to separate himself from his Ohana and friends to keep them out of harm’s way. His new friend mails him to a far off location.

I had thought this entire comic series was going to be based in New York, but it looks like Stitch will be going on a world tour as his adventure takes him to Australia for the next episode.

Lilo and Stitch fans are not going to want to miss this worldwide Roller Coaster Ride.

Lilo and Stitch #2 (Trish Forstner)
