The time for Zeus’ Mount Olympus Brunch has arrived. Uninvited guest Hades arrives and interrupts Zeus’ toast to the other gods, and he has the Golden Fleece along with the power of transformation. Hades turns his brother into a worm, and the rest of the brunch party godly guests are turned into other random objects. Poor Athena is turned into a VHS cassette tape…the horror. Meanwhile, the rest of Hades’ former posse shows up to get their revenge and the Golden Fleece.
Hades transforms the Minotaur and Orpheus into animals. Medusa romances the Golden Fleece away from Hades which then gets intercepted by the Bunnataur, Orpheus, and Arachne who uses the Golden Fleece to transform back to their original selves. Arachne is finally in her human form again. The Minotaur accidentally swallowed the Golden Fleece, and his magically gas transforms the gods of Mount Olympus back to their godly selves. Medusa helps Hades escape back to the Underworld.
I loved this series as the bright colors and characters screamed 1995 Hercules. Elliot Kalan did a great job of being the voice for the sarcastic and wity Hades along with his new gang of friends. The character designs by Alessandro Ranaldi for all of the new characters were very well done, especially Medusa. It would be great to see more misadventures of other characters from this Hercules universe in a future series should Dynamite choose to bring Hades back for more comedic failed adventures. Hades and Medusa rule!
