Daring duck of mystery
Champion of right
Swoops out of the shadows
Darkwing owns the night
Somewhere some villain schemes
But his number’s up
(3-2-1)
Darkwing Duck (When there’s trouble you call DW)
Darkwing Duck (Let’s get dangerous!)
Darkwing Duck (Darkwing, Darkwing, duck!)
When there’s trouble, you call….the Justice Ducks. That’s not how the theme song lyrics go, but you know DW is going to love teaming up with his friends… right? We are now living in a world where Dynamite Comics is swooping out of the shadows with their third comic series featuring characters from the Darkwing Duck universe. The “Final Order Cutoff” for the first issue is this weekend. Let your store know that you want to get dangerous and preorder the first issue and the series while you are at it. I have all four covers preordered as I want to max out on dangerousness.
Check out the synopsis and preview the variant covers as well as the first six pages of Justice Ducks #1 below.

Darkwing Duck Is Teaming Up – Whether He Likes It or Not!
Foes of evil! Enemies of injustice! To the mighty heroes of the JUSTICE DUCKS, all bad guys are a total bummer and must be taken down – even if said bad-o’s are from OUTER SPACE!
In this thrilling maiden issue: Flying saucers descend from the skies, to (maybe) wreak (possible) havoc upon the (mostly) innocent citizens of St. Canard! All that’s stopping these aggressive alien agitators is STEGMUTT, GIZMODUCK, NEPTUNIA, MORGANA, and (most important, in his opinion) DARKWING DUCK!
Written by the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning ROGER LANGRIDGE and illustrated by celebrated Darkwing Duck artist CARLO LAURO, this latest chapter in the ongoing saga of St. Canard’s web-footed wonders is surely destined for greatness – just like DD himself!

I loved Roger’s Muppet Show comic, and I recall he also did good work with Popeye, AND I’ve heard he’s a big Carlo Barks fan, so maybe he could fit right in with Darkwing Duck. And from these scans, it does look like Carlo has vastly improved from the traced stock art that plagued the first two issues of the series. But I still don’t think I can support this version of Darkwing, because I refuse to let Disney believe they made the right choice in firing Aaron Sparrow and James Silvani.
