Covers

This is a Dynamite Comics release. So you know that there is going to be a Goliath amount of covers for their Gargoyles comic series. As usual, my favorite cover is the Cover A from David Nakayama which features the trio of Broadway, Lexington, and Brooklyn.

Gargoyles #10 (David Nakayama)

The other Dynamite Comics Gargoyles variant covers that I am collecting are the action figure covers. I have all of the Gargoyles action figure variants for the previous issues. Wolf is featured on the cover of Gargoyles #10. NECA needs to make this figure.

We are defenders of the night. We are Gargoyles.

The “Here in Manhattan” story that started out in Gargoyles #1 continues with Chapter Ten: New Rules.

The court “hearing“ of the century continues with surprise witness Elisa Maza taking the stand with her testimony in defense of Goliath. Elisa confesses her love and relationship with Goliath which we get to see the reaction to many key players who were watching the events unfold on tv. The judge rules that Gargoyles qualify for the same rights as any human and since he was arrested without cause and has been accused of no crime then he is immediately released. This was indeed the right decision by the judge, but we also find out that he was paid off by David Xanatos because of course he was. Xanatos always wins.

I really enjoyed this court hearing story over the past few issues. This was a great way for people to find out that Gargoyles exists in the world and that they are just as human as the rest of us. I am excited for all of the new story directions that Greg Weisman can go into both for the Manhattan clan and other gargoyles clans all over the world now that the word is out that gargoyles are among us. I have to give George Kambadais a shout out for delivering another solid book of amazing artwork that made me feel like I was watching an episode of the animated show.

Gargoyles #10 (Lucio Parrillo)

The good news is when you support the comic and buy the individual issues. You help the comic get extended to more issues and nice collected story trades for your bookshelves. Dynamite Comics Gargoyles: Here in Manhattan will release in January and collect the first six issues of the series. It will be published as a trade paperback, trade hardcover, and trade hardcover signed by Greg Weisman collectible editions. I am opting for signed trade hardcover.

The covers by Trish Forstner and Tony Fleecs for Gargoyles #9-12 interconnect to form a larger piece of artwork.

Gargoyles #10 (Trish Forstner / Tony Fleecs)

Weisman and Kambadais are crushing all Eyrie Tower high expectations for this Gargoyles comic series.

I can’t wait for the next issue of Gargoyles which is tentatively scheduled to be released November 22nd, 2023. Also, please make sure to support Dynamite Comics Gargoyles: Dark Ages, Darkwing Duck, Negaduck, and Disney Villains Hades series while you are out buying Gargoyles.

Gargoyles fans…WE LIVE AGAIN!
