Name’s Hades, Lord of the dead. Hi, how ya doin’?
Dynamite Comics has gone all Greek mythology on us with the newest entry in their Disney Villains comics series. The Disney Villains Hades miniseries will run for five comically evil issues. Yes, Hades rules!
Today, we will take a look at Disney Villains Hades #2 published by Dynamite Comics.
Release Date: September 20th, 2023.
Writer: Elliot Kalan
Illustrator: Alessandro Ranaldi
Letterer: Jeff Eckleberry
Editor: Nate Cosby

Official Synopsis:
The infamous Labyrinth – a creepy, scary place where the gigantic Minotaur of Crete is imprisoned. Why are Hades, Arachne, Orpheus, and Icarus sneaking into such a forbidding place? To try and convince the Minotaur to join their group, of course! The furious Minotaur is (unsurprisingly) furious, and the only thing that can quell said fury is… wait a minute, this can’t be right… a cookie!?!
Covers
This is a Dynamite Comics release. So there is going to be a Mount Olympus amount of covers enough for everyone in the Underworld. In this section, I am going to highlight some of the hot tempered covers for Disney Villains Hades #2.

Any one of these covers would please the gods.
My Review
*STOP READING HERE IF YOU WANT TO AVOID ALL SPOILERS*
Hades is after the mighty Minotaur to join his heavy metal band of merry misfits. To get to the Minotaur, they are going to have to survive…the Labyrinth. The Minotaur is awakened by Orpheus’ not so soothing music and goes into a rampage mode on Hades’ heist posse and the Labyrinth walls. All of the chaos could have been avoided if Hades would have just started with his plan B opener of offering the Minotaur a cookie. The snack fan immediately agrees to calm down and join the crew for more cookies.
Hades goes over the details of his plan to obtain the Golden Fleece and gain the power of transformation so that he can be the #1 god of Olympus. Hades rules! His plan is reliant on the element of surprise which he loses when Medusa warns the King of Colchis of Hades’ plan to steal the Golden Fleece. Jason of Iolcos arrives at the front of the island on his own quest for the Golden Fleece which is noticed by Icarus as he scouts the island from above. Hades’ backup plan is to make his port arrival at the back of the island instead. What could possibly go wrong?
Like Dynamite’s other Disney Villains hits, Scar and Maleficent, I would watch this Hades movie or animated series. Elliot Kalan and Alessandro Ranaldi are knocking them dead and bringing readers to the Underworld with Hades for a real good time.
Dynamite Comics has another Herculean sized hit with their Greek Comedy Disney Villains Hades.

The next issue of Disney Villains Hades will rise from the Underworld tentatively on October 18th, 2023. Please make sure to support the Dynamite Comics Darkwing Duck, Negaduck, Gargoyles, Gargoyles: Dark Ages, and Disney Villains Maleficent comic series while you are out buying Disney Villains Hades.
