Covers

This is a Dynamite Comics release. So you know that the evil sorceress is going to conjure up a kingdom of covers. In this section, I am going to highlight some of the enchanting covers for Disney Villains: Maleficent #3.

Disney Villains Maleficent #3 (Soo Lee)
Disney Villains Maleficent #3 (Jennifer L. Meyer)
Disney Villains Maleficent #3 (Rebeca Puebla)

The Soo Lee cover is the most accurate to the Maleficent’s character design in the comic. You will be happy with whichever cover you get your hands on as this batch of Maleficent covers are evil works of art that all Disney Villains and Maleficent fans will treasure. The cover game with this series is very strong, and I can see fans purchasing multiple covers from a fantastic artist lineup.

*STOP READING HERE IF YOU WANT TO AVOID ALL SPOILERS*

Chapter 3 is titled the Beast. The main star of this issue is Maleficent’s raven friend, Diablo. Maleficent sends Diablo out above the forest as a spy to see if there are any new threats in the forest since she recently had two princes show up in her territory. The raven encounters many animals in it’s mission, but it finds no threats. That is until Prince Reynaud who was transformed by Maleficent into a bobcat looking “beast” in the first issue tracks and hunts down the raven. There is very little dialogue in this issue as the majority of the pages feature Diablo the raven’s journey which includes an action packed dramatic chase throughout the forest between the raven and the beast. The lack of dialogue is made up in beautifully high detailed comic art in each and every pane. So Lee can definitely draw a forest that Disney artist legend Mary Blair would appreciate.

Don’t sleep on Dynamite Comics Disney Villains Maleficent.
