For the past three years the DuckTales panel has brought a lot of excitement for everyone following the show. Matt Youngberg and Frank Angones know how to put on a good panel. In the past we’ve been treated to a number of really good sneak peaks.

The first year we had to find someone at the panel who was sharing it online. The second year most of the really great information came from releases timed with the announcements around the panel. This year we were treated to similar announcements and some great fans who were live-tweeting during the panel. So here is our recap of what went down at the DuckTales SDCC 2019 Panel courtesy of our friends on Twitter and the outlets given exclusives to share.

The panel began at 11:45 pst in Room 6A with cast members Ben Schwartz, Bobby Moynihan, Kate Micucci, Paget Bruster. Matt Youngberg and Frank Angones were also there.

We saw reports that people lined up hours before the event to ensure they had great seats in the panel. As time neared we saw a lot of people asking how the line was as they tried to get to Room 6A. Most of the people we followed made it into the room.

There was this amazing Cosplay by an unnamed Darkwing Duck fan.

The paneled opened with a sneak peak of the new Rocketeer series. The Rocketeer is based on the movie with the same name that came out in 1991 by Disney. The movie was one of my favorites growing up, and I’m excited to see what the new show coming to Disney Junior will do with the concept. You can check out the sneak peek below.

 

Next panel attendees were treated to a brand new Theme Song Takeover! These have been fun videos released on the Disney Channel’s YouTube channel. Prepare yourselves for “GlomTales”!

 

The panel was hosted by Michael Schneider, senior editor at Variety. Reports on the panel questions are a little harder to follow than the reveals, but here are some of the highlights.

 

As many people were speculating after seeing that Lin Manuel Miranda was at the convention, the Gizmoduck / Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera voice actor surprised fans for the rest of the panel.

There was a reveal that Gizmoduck will go to Japan to learn about the lost origins of Gyro Gearloose, and there was confirmation in the panel that Dr. Atomz Fear from “The Dangerous Chemistry of Gandra Dee!” was a nod to Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb.

When asked about easter eggs it was revealed that everyone in the crew adds their own because they are all such huge fans.

 

Next it was time for the annual big character reveal from the Executive Producer’s laptop. Here is a video and I’ll include posts with images next.

 

 

After the reveal of the poster the attendees were treated to a sneak peek for the remainder of Season 2, and great news the Disney Channel has it up on their YouTube channel!

DuckTales was not limited to the panel. Mondo unveiled their new Scrooge McDuck Tiki and Her Universe revealed a Scrooge inspired design.
