Disney Afternoon Giant #1 Coming!

***Update*** Disney Afternoon Giant #1 May Be Reprinted Comics?!

That’s right! IDW is publishing a giant-sized, bi-monthly comic for fans of the Disney Afternoon. The book will be released in October and the first issue features a cover by James Silvani! The cover is not available yet, but we will share it with you as soon as we see it.

The description of the book sounds like something we’ve been asking for, and I think Disney Afternoon fans will be buying these up. It currently lists classic DuckTales, Rescue Rangers, and Darkwing Duck. Hopefully the book will eventually include stories from TaleSpin, Goof Troop, Mighty Ducks, and more!

  1. I definitely get the sense that there’s at least some interest in reviving the classic Disney afternoon for a modern audience — both in comics and potentially in the new Ducktales universe.

    • I’ll take all of the above. I love what the new show is doing with the use of Disney Afternoon Easter eggs and including iconic characters.

I have wanted a Disney Afternoon comic for years. I think it would make a great comic if they just continued the classic show’s with comics. Each issue could include a couple of stories from rotating franchises and creators.
