Or… at least get ready for Fenton. Fans of DuckTales have been pestering the creators of DuckTales 2017 over Gizmoduck almost as much as they have about the hiatus. It has been many, many months since we first learned the hero of Duckburg would appear in the first season of DT17, but that hasn’t stopped fans from asking about him on a daily basis.

Now, you know we love Gizmoduck. You may recall that we stayed up or set alarms to order Gizmoduck Funko Pops! From Target.com. And although we love the classic character we have really been looking forward to the updated character. There are a number of reasons to be excited about the debut of this character.

1. The hiatus ends on 5/1 and Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera is scheduled to make his first appearance on 5/11. The hiatus is over, and Fenton is bringing new episodes with him.

2. Fenton is voices by the creator of the hit musical Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Miranda identifies himself as a huge DuckTales fan. Miranda’s version of the character will have latin roots (hence the name change).

3. The introduction of Fenton will be part of “Duck Week.” We are still learning what all will be taking place during Duck Week. We know it will begin May 6th and include partnerships with other divisions of Disney including ESPN, Disney Parks and Resorts, the roll-out of the product line at Disney Stores, and more. Hopefully we get more information on what to expect from Duck Week.

4. Fenton is debuting in a new episode titled “Beware the B.U.D.D.Y. System!” and the episodes description from the Deadline article should have all of use excited.

Fenton is recruited by Launchpad (voiced by Beck Bennett), who is feeling menaced by tech genius Mark Beaks’ newest invention. See the trailer above.

An episode with Launchpad, Mark Beaks, and Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera!? Yes please! This is the only episode of the four announced this month that we knew very little about, and it sounds like it may be one of the best episodes of the show so far!

5. I just can’t help but fell that this episode will also be the first time we see Darkwing Duck. We know he will be featured in at least one episode of DuckTales 2017’s first season. A recently released book, “Launchpad’s Notepad: Jokes to Quack You Up!” included images from a few of the upcoming episodes, and there is one image that has LP wearing his chauffeur’s hat and a Darkwing Duck image in the background. It definitely looks like this image could come from this episode.
